Injector assemblies

Birdcatcher on a tunnel ram manifold for normally aspirated fuel systems. Shown with high flow barrel valve.

Tunnel ram injectors - normally aspirated
This injector assembly is calibrated for non supercharged fuel consumption applications. Includes: Injector hat, metering valve, idle and secondary check valve, bypass pills, distribution block, nozzles and fuel lines for the intake manifold.
NOTE The manifold, manifold top, fuel pump and fuel shut off must be ordered separately.

See section below for fuel pump and fuel shut off valve.
Also available are quick release fuel shutoff cable brackets.

Note: Fuel pump camshaft drive on small block Chevy with harmonic balancer require a special 2.5" fuel pump extension so the fuel pump will clear the harmonic balancer. The special 2.5" extension is machined to clear the balancer and move the fuel pump forward to clear the balancer.

LOWE Fuel Systems - fully adjustable barrel valve
On most fuel systems the idle fuel volume and the prelaunch (stage)  fuel volume are tied together. You adjust the idle by turning the cross link to give it more fuel at idle. This will also give it more fuel at prelaunch- wide open is unaffected by this. At wide open the system is just a pump, jets and nozzles, the barrel valve is not controlling the fuel volume. By changing the idle check springs and changing the barrel valve leak down rate you can get the idle that you want and have the prelaunch (stage) volume that you want. A LOWE barrel valve has separate circuits for the idle and the prelaunch (stage). The idle is set with a needle much like a carburetor and the cross link now just changes the prelaunch volume without changing the idle volume. Measuring between the two pins on the barrel valve gives you a number to write down in the log book. If the car's 60' is better with a .090 space between the pins than .100 space then maybe it will 60' better with a .080. This information is just not available with any other kind of barrel valve. Transition is the part of the fuel system most hard to define and harder still to measure. It is the motion between the staging (prelauch) throttle position and wide open. This situation takes place in about .1 of a second and happens so fast that the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) probes won't read it but when it is right it is one of the ingredients for a good 60 foot time and the beginning of a good ET.

Mullins fuel blocks
A Mullins block has many configuration for many applications. One application is to mount the block on the fuel shutoff as a collection point for fuel returning to the fuel tank or the pump inlet nipple. Another is to mount the block on top of the fuel shut off as a mount for fuel distribution or as a mount for the jet adapters and poppets for high speed or pump sizers. This block also has mounting holes in each corner so the block can be easily bulkhead mounted. The holes are 3/16" size and you can use 3/16" mounting screws or tap the holes to 1/4 unc and use bolts from the other side of the bulkhead CNC milled and drilled for accuracy and finish then finish tapped and anodized for durability and looks. Blocks have -8 ports in the side and bottom and a selection of -6 or -8 ports in the top. 35247-09086 jet holder will screw directly into any of the ports and a 35562 60000 AN-6 pressure poppet (specify pressure-last four digits) will screw directly into the jet holder. The Mullins block is named after the customer who first requested that we make it for him.

Four way cross fuel manifold

The four way cross fuel manifold is used on top of the fuel pump or fuel shutoff to give the option of installing additional fuel distribution or add high speed valves or pump sizers to the system. 35247-09086 jet holder will screw directly into any of the ports and a 35562 60000 AN-6 pressure poppet (specify pressure-last four digits) will screw directly into the jet holder.

Fuel distribution blocks
35216-50100 Fuel distribution block. This block has a -8 inlet port and four side 1/8" outlet ports. They are used primarily after the barrel valve to provide the fuel distribution to the ports nozzles or to the hat nozzles....................... This is one of the popular PSI top distribution blocks.

The 2.5" and the 5" fuel pump extensions are CNC made for quality control and finish from billet aluminum. After drilling and finishing the extensions are anodized for appearance and durability. One of the features that makes our extensions different than some is we use a bearing to support the drive shaft at the fuel pump end. This will make the fuel pump last longer by taking all the side load off the fuel pump drive shaft. All of our extensions have the standard four bolt pump mounting pattern.

Ford Cleveland/Windsor and Fontana fuel pump drives for non
supercharged applications - (billet front timing case cover)

Ford Cleveland and Windsor engines have side engine mounts that are not popular with race car applications. Most race cars use a front engine plate to support the front of the engine as it does not load the cylinders causing them to go out of round when the engine makes a lot of power and tries to twist in the chassis of the car. We have solved this problem and a few others with our front cover plates. These plates are CNC machined for accurate fit to the front of the engine and provide a drilled and tapped mounting point for the front mounting plates to attach to. They can also provide a fuel pump drive mounting and on the supercharged version provide a mounting for the crank support and the idler pulley mounting.

Ford small block- Crank support

The front of the crankshaft on a supercharged engine takes a lot of strain from the pull of the belt turning the supercharger. On some applications it takes up to 800 horsepower to just turn the blower at full boost. The front of the crankshaft was never designed to take this type of side load and because of this side load it will cause the crankshaft to fail prematurely at the radii on the front of the first rod journal. On a supercharged engine it is not if the crank will fail it is when. If you back fire the engine for some reason and nothing happens except you just break the belt ask yourself what amount of energy did it take to break this belt and how did this energy manifest itself in the crankshaft. The belt broke because the engine kept turning when the supercharger stopped (or wanted to stop) because of a spike of excessive pressure in the manifold (from the backfire). What did it do to the front of the unsupported crankshaft ? What you did not realize is that although you do not see the damage you probably just cracked the crankshaft on the number one rod journal. Though it will still run (probably) the crankshaft just had over half of its normal life eliminated.. Now what did that cost ? A KLRC crank support will usually double the life of a crankshaft making the KLRC crank support on of the best investments you can make. If your crankshaft costs $2000.00 (or more) and lasts 40 runs before it cracks beyond safe use and you can get 70 or 80 runs with a KLRC crank support then the KLRC crank support should be worth $2000.00.(or more) JUST THE FIRST TIME THAT YOU USE IT.

The KLRC crank support attaches to the lower four bolt holes in the front of the engine block with studs. The crank support side plates slide on the studs and the front bearing plate goes on after the side plates. The crank spindle attaches to the center of the crankshaft and the bearing that rides in the front bearing plates goes on the end of the spindle. The KLRC crank support has adjustment built into the design to allow for differences in crank tunnel bore but once the adjustment is set you can disassemble and reassemble the engine without having to readjust the crank support. The KLRC crank support comes black anodized with a complete set of instructions to install the kit correctly. If you have a desire for a color other than black anodized please ask when you order.

Jesel belt drive fuel pump drive

The KLRC Jesel fuel injection drive kit solves the problems of putting a fuel injection pump over the Jesel belt drive system and still having access to use the adjustably of the Jesel system.

Some applications do not have the space on the front of the engine to mount the fuel pump so a belt drive system is available to solve those problems.
