Car 33
Harris Osgood and Lowe Top Gas and FED TAD
Top Gas East was an association of racers who wanted to race heads up. No
break out no index, first person to the finish line won. The rules are simple. No blowers,
No nitro, No Lenco - bring everything you got and hope you got engough. Phil Harris, Tim
Osgood and I teamed up to put this car on the track. We raced this car in 80 and 81 and
won the TGE championship both times. In 82 and 83 I raced Karts and won two championships.

189" wheel base, 482" Big block Chevy, Powerglide

482" big block Chevy, 14-1 compression, Crane roller cam, Vertex, Crower stack
injection with Hilborn pump, Powerglide, Ford 9" 4:30 gear. If you have a look on the
front of the harmonic balancer you will see my first engine turner tool. Now available
from our tool section.
In 1984 we put a supercharged 427" Big block Chevy in the car with
Powerglide and raced the car as a Top Alcohol Dragster. We were way in the back of the
pack but we were there. We ran 7.0's at 195 mph which was quicker than some of the rear
engine cars of the day.

Standard launch even with 70 pounds in the bar on the front axle and 100 pounds in the
weight box on the very front of the chassis.

The black box under the black number panel on the front of the chassis had 100 pounds of
lead in it. Hows this for chassis flex!! The car killed converters the final count was 12
TCI converters. One was so bad I turned the grey paint black on one run!!!!
We moved the diff back 4" and put a Lenco 2 speed in with a reverser to get rid of
the Powerglide. It made it a 193" car and a little tight in the seat.

See the white stuff on the ground? It's not a beach and that is not sand- it's snow.
