Body Hardware

It is recommended to use the flat head (countersunk) fasteners on aluminum panels and use the domed head fasteners on fiberglass panels or use the self ejecting countersunk fasteners on fiberglass because they have a steel plate that holds the hardware to the fiberglass and acts as a load bearing surface for the fastener to apply pressure against.

The large Dzus fasteners both domed and flat head use a 1.375" center to center spring and mounting hardware. The small fasteners use a 1" center to center spring mount.

Altered body front mount. The flange is molded in the body from the mold. The steel mounting plate bolts to the engine plate and the Dzus fasteners attach the body to the mounting plate.

The body all the way down in the race position. The body has no inner wheel arches because the wheels are tucked up under the shoulder hoop and run very close to the seat. This allows us to make the rear track as narrow as possible. The advantages are that the tires are out of the air stream making the car more aerodynamic as well at it makes the car handle better because the rear wheels are closer together making it want to steer the car less. Another advantage is that the diff is narrower which means the diff housing and axles all weigh less.

Hinge rotated all the way back into the service position. This locks the body into place to keep it from falling off while you work on the car or tow the car. Without this feature a gust of wind could unlatch the body and allow the body to fall on you while you are working on the clutch or transmission.
