KEN LOWE RACE CARS ![]() Rocker girdle set for small block Chevy. 4140 steel adjusters insure the valve lash does not change. The adjusters have a flange on the outside that holds the clamp bars in place to prevent them from accidentally sliding down against the rockers like other brands of girdles can. 7/16" stud part number 39267-10010 3/8" stud part number 39267-10011 Tip: Check to make sure that the base of adjustor fits against trunnion of the rocker arms, and doesn't rub the rocker itself. Make sure all rocker studs are free of any burrs or defects. Clean all parts thoroughly before assembly. Assembly: 2. With the clamping bar bolts loose 2-3 turns, slide the KEN LOWE RACE CARS small block Chevy clamping bars over the adjustors.3. Snug all the 5/16" bolts (1/2" head) to about 10 ft lbs. Now you are ready to start adjusting the valves. 4. Bring the engine up to top dead centre on number one. Check the valve lash on both the intake and the exhaust valve.5. If the lash is ok then tighten the clamping bolts adjacent to the adjustors on the valves that you just checked the lash on. Tighten to 20-25 ft lbs torque.6 . If the lash is not ok then loosen the clamping bolts adjacent to the adjustors on the valves that you just checked the lash on. Turn the adjustors to correct the lash. Now tighten the clamp bolts to 20-25 ft lbs torque.7 . Rotate the engine 90 degrees and repeat step 5 and 6 on cylinder number eight.8 . Repeat through complete firing order sequence (1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2).9 . Recheck all clamp bolts to be sure one did not get left loose.Tip : We have found welding a small tab that fits the slot on the adjustors onto a 1/2" ratting ring spanner makes for a very handy tool, and makes valve adjustment much easier and faster.Thank you for purchasing a KEN LOWE RACE CARS product.
